The most important work proved to be the 1971 Partita, for concertante harpsichord, electric guitar, bass guitar, harp, double bass, and orchestra. The ballet for it was written over 40 years ago. The world premiere of the performance „Museum of Man” took place at the Silva Rerum Dance Theatre in Krakow, and the choreography was created by Marian Żak, who soon afterward emigrated due to circumstances. He settled in New York, where he remains involved in this field, including teaching and social work. At the invitation of the Baltic Opera Festival, he prepared a revival of the earlier work. After this year’s presentation, I asked him if he had made any changes to his concept. He replied that only partial ones. Against the background of Polish ballet art in the 1980s, the Museum of Man had to be a bold and innovative proposition. It presented a futuristic world after the Holocaust, where – among various museum remains of an ancient civilization – those who survived live.
