„Many have fallen, and many more will follow” – this is one of the few recurring lines in W. H. Auden’s famous poem „The Age of Anxiety” (1947). It speaks of the omnipresent threat of war – both in times of peace and bloodshed. The Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera presented a chamber performance based on this poem, set to music by Poulenc, Debussy, and Britten, among others.
