I believe that in conducting, there is no single correct technique that everyone should emulate. If you compare performances of the same symphony conducted by various great artists – Karajan, Kleiber, Abbado, Muti, Bernstein, and others – you will observe that each of them has their own, individual methods. Technique is secondary, and personality is paramount. It all comes down to the nature of the conductor, their sensitivity, and their ability to communicate with other musicians. (Presto)
