P.G: The orchestra features the finest Ukrainian artists, both from Ukrainian orchestras and from the diaspora. Once a year, they meet under the direction of Canadian conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson, my wife, and spend a week or two rehearsing for the tour. And this is truly an artistic endeavor.Musicians are artists, but through music, they become soldiers. When my colleague and director of the Grand Theatre – National Opera, Waldemar Dąbrowski, and I decided to create this ensemble, which was Keri-Lynn’s idea, we secured support for this initiative from both the Polish and Ukrainian authorities. Furthermore, President Volodymyr Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenskaya are patrons of this orchestra. This means that everyone understands the importance of this ensemble in preserving Ukrainian culture and showcasing it to the world. (E-teatr)
