Sopranos can be divided into several categories: for example, coloratura, dramatic, lyric, or lirico-spinto sopranos. The latter combines the softness, flexibility, and brightness of the lyric soprano with a more pronounced midrange and a stronger, metallic projection, which allows them to cut through large, loud orchestras. This is precisely my voice type.

The parts for lirico-spinto sopranos are incredibly interesting. They are not overly lyrical or sweet; on the contrary, they are filled with emotion, fire, and plenty of room for the actor’s expression. That’s why I so enjoyed the roles of Benigna in Penderecki’s „The Black Mask” and Salome in Richard Strauss’s opera.
