Emanuel Gat’s „Four Oceanic Dances” to Benjamin Britten’s „Four Sea Interludes” from Peter Grimes features figures dressed in white in an empty space—walkers, beachgoers, spa guests? The shifting sequences, individual micro-solos, and duets are seemingly unrelated, sometimes undulating, sometimes forming cycles, and sometimes scattering. Although the collective is the protagonist, no one leads it, yet each person simultaneously takes on the role of soloist. It’s also worth emphasizing that, for ecological reasons, Gat chose exclusively white costumes for the dancers, sourced from the theater’s warehouses. (Katarzyna Gardzina – Ruch Muzyczny)
